The circle

A free accountability circle for the ninety days.

Six thousand people writing the same six lines, in their own books, at their own kitchen tables. One shared prompt on Monday, an open thread all week, and a live reset session on the first Sunday of the month.

What the circle actually is

One prompt, every Monday

A single question that sits underneath the week’s six lines. It arrives by email, takes a minute to read, and you answer it in your own book — not in a comment box.

An open thread, all week

One place to post what you wrote if you want to, and to read what other people did with the same prompt. No feed, no likes, no streak counters.

A live reset, once a month

First Sunday, forty minutes: read back the month, name what stalled, and set the next thirty days. Recorded for anyone in a difficult timezone.

No fee, and no upsell to a fee

The circle is free because it is the best argument for the book. You never need to buy anything to stay in it, and nobody will ask you to.

The week, as it actually runs

  1. MondayThe prompt landsOne question, in your inbox before seven. Written for the week ahead, not the week behind.
  2. Tuesday — SaturdayThe thread is openPost a line, read a few, or read none at all. Lurking is a completely respectable way to be in the circle.
  3. SundayThe weekly turnThe seventh spread in the book looks back across the week. Most people do this one with coffee and nobody else in the room.
  4. First SundayThe live resetForty minutes together, on video, with the month’s pages open. Recorded and posted the same evening.

This is for you if

  • You have abandoned a journal before and would like to know why.
  • You want structure without a coach, an app or a subscription.
  • You would write more consistently if somebody was expecting it.

This is not for you if

  • You want daily one-to-one feedback on what you wrote.
  • You are looking for a business mastermind or a networking group.
  • You want long-form journalling prompts — six lines is the whole idea.

What people say

I have started and abandoned four journals. This one I have finished twice, because it never asks for more than six lines and it never makes me feel behind.
