Dispatch times
Orders placed before 2pm Pacific on a business day are picked the same day and leave the bindery within two business days. Orders placed at the weekend or on a public holiday are picked on the next business day.
You will receive a dispatch email with tracking as soon as the parcel leaves us. If you have not had that email within three business days, contact us with your order number and we will trace it.
Delivery and cost
Standard shipping within the United States is free on every order, and typically arrives three to five business days after dispatch.
International shipping is calculated at checkout by destination and typically takes seven to fourteen business days after dispatch. Import duties and taxes are set by the destination country, are not included in the price you pay us, and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Ninety-day returns
You may return any journal within ninety days of delivery for a full refund of the item price, whether the book has been written in or not. A book with sixty days of your handwriting in it is still returnable.
To start a return, email us with your order number. We will confirm the return address. Return postage within the United States is covered by us; international return postage is the responsibility of the sender.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within five business days of the return arriving. Original shipping charges, where they were paid, are refunded only if the return is due to a fault or an error on our side.
Damaged or faulty books
Every book is checked before it is boxed, but binding and print faults happen. If a book arrives damaged, or a fault appears in normal use, send us a photograph and your order number and we will send a replacement without asking for the original back.
Damage caused by the book being used as a book — a softened spine, a warped cover after a spill, ink bleeding from a pen we did not supply — is wear rather than a fault, and is covered by the ninety-day return instead.
Changing or cancelling an order
An order can be changed or cancelled at any point before it is dispatched. Email us with the order number and we will confirm the change. Once a parcel has left the bindery it has to be handled as a return.
If an address was entered incorrectly, tell us as soon as you notice. Before dispatch we can simply correct it; after dispatch the parcel usually has to complete its journey and come back to us before it can be resent.
